Healing is a journey, which individuals navigate on different paths, with different tools, and at different paces. I honor clients' stories and prioritize trust and authenticity to create a safe and brave space for clients to express themselves fully and guide their exploration as they become more empowered to take control of their own wellness and healing.
In my 10+ years in Higher Education, specifically in programs specializing in the success of multicultural, first-generation and low-income populations, I’ve most valued building genuine connections with students through my authentic, affirming, empathetic, and encouraging coaching style; skills that I now use clinically to build trusting relationships with clients. I have experience working with teenagers and adults with a variety of identities, concerns, and diagnoses, and work with the whole client; considering environmental and cultural factors in my assessment and treatment planning. Growth is not linear and I support individuals through life’s waves; assisting them in processing their experiences and emotions by using an eclectic approach to therapy and by providing psycho-education to help them understand how their diagnoses and symptoms show up in their lives and how to best navigate them. I also use integrative practices, when appropriate, to explore and enhance the mind-body connection.
When not in the therapeutic space, you can find me dancing, enjoying the presence of my loved ones, or catching a flight. Life is to be lived and joy can be found when you look with intention.
